Telehealth Visits at Southeastern Cardiology
Due to the recent COVID-19 Outbreak, Southeastern Cardiology will be offering Telehealth visits for appropriate patients. We are looking at this avenue of care to limit patient's exposure and respect the need for social distancing while still providing key services to our patients.
Our staff is carefully identifying those that might be appropriate for this service. Below you will find information about Telehealth and what to expect. If you have an upcoming appointment and are interested in this service, please notify us.
1. During this time, the best and easiest way to communicate with us is by signing up for our patient portal. Our website (www.southeasterncardiology.com) provides access to our patient portal. Access by clicking the green Patient Portal button on the top right of your screen. If you are not web enabled, please call our office at 706-243-4500 to set this up.
2. To prepare for your Telehealth visit please consider the following:
a. Find the quietest place in your home (away from TVs, radios, family members) and make sure you have good cell service or a land line in this location.
b. If you normally bring a family member to your appointment, please plan for them to be present and use speaker phone. We cannot conference in another person.
c. Please have a notepad and pin handy to take any notes during your visit should the provider give recommendations or instructions
d. A nurse will call you within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time (or if your appointment is on Monday, they will call you the prior Thursday). During this nurse call, please be prepared to answer questions about your medications, social/medical history and symptoms. It is preferred that we have an accurate weight and BP reading during this call. We will provide links below for our preferred equipment. If you do not wish to purchase these, please plan to use your current scale and BP cuff.
3. At the time of your appointment (please be available during a 4 hour window for our call):
a. Please be in your quiet place, prepared to answer our call. Please note this may come from a blocked, unknown number.
b. Please have a notepad and pin handy to take any notes during your visit should the provider give recommendations or instructions
c. Please view this telehealth visit as the same as a face to face appointment with one of our providers and be prepared with any questions or concerns that you might have
4. Following the visit:
a. Our office will call to schedule any future appointments or testing
